Tasha Florez serves as Senior Program Officer at CARE Fund, where she is responsible for managing a portfolio of cancer research grant awards. 

Tasha brings over two decades of experience as a senior philanthropic leader and nonprofit operations advisor with a broad and deep background working with nonprofits, indigenous communities and healthcare entities throughout the US, Alaska, and Hawaii. Former roles as executive director, consultant, program officer, peer reviewer and legislative aide allow her to view the end-to-end grantmaking process from the perspective of the funder, grantee, reviewer, evaluator, and policy maker.  

Tasha holds an MPH from the University of Hawaii, MS in Natural Resources Planning from the University of Vermont, BS in Psychology/Biology from Georgetown University and certification as a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) from the American College of Financial Services.
